Event Recap
Round One
The Tour 18 Summer Championship was held at Tour 18 – Dallas. Though temperatures were under 100, the tournament play was hot as always. Daniel McGibony from Trophy Club came out to take the leader position at the end of Round 1 for the Boys 15-18 with the low score of 74. Day one also came to an end with a tie for second place between Bryce Osborne of Flower Mound and Dawson Parmley from Southlake, both with a 75. Lubbock’s Eli Tran led the younger boys with an opening round 79. Jackson Drake, also from Lubbock, positioned himself in second with an 84. Rounding out the top 3 youngsters was Daniel Choi from Westlake with an 86.
Brooke Sullivan from Bedford shot a 78 to lead the older girls on the first day, and was closely followed by Audrey Pulliam from Little Rock who finished the day with an 80. Alexis Read of Bridgeport finished the day with an 81 to round out the top three. Our Girls 11-14y leader after day one was Julia Garcia with a 94.
Round Two
Round Two was an exciting day to say the least. Robert Garcia from Lewisville jumped up the leader board with his second round score of 74 and claimed first place by three shots! Bryce Osborne from Flower Mound posted a 79 in round two in order to place him in a tie for second along side Joseph Jones, who finished his second round with a par 72. Jones won the tense playoff after the 3rd hole. Eli Tran was able to hold the overnight lead and clinch first place with a second round 81. Jackson Drake held strong to finish second place, and Jack Beauchamp took third with his second round 79.
Alexis Read bounced her way up the leader board with her day two score of 75 to take first place. Brooke Sullivan finished with an 82 to secure second place, and Audrey Pulliam also shot an 82 to take third. Julia Garcia made up 12 strokes from her round one score to finish the tournament with a first place finish and a score of 82.
