Post Report: The Patriot Major Championship

Dallas, Texas — June 15, 2016 – The  historic Golf Club of Dallas (formally known as Oak Cliff C.C.) once again hosted the annual Patriot Major Championship. This TJGT major derives it’s name from the Dallas Baptist University (DBU) Patriot golf team. The site is also the home course for DBU’s collegiate teams. The Golf Club of Dallas is rich in history and tradition. The club once hosted the Dallas Open, now known as the Byron Nelson tournament and while the tournament was hosted at GC of Dallas from 1958 to 1967, Sam Snead, Julius Boros, Bert Yancey and others collected trophies. The tournament provided fair weather in the 80s for the beginning of the week. The humidity rose during the afternoons making hydration essential for each competitor. College coaches in attendance represented the following institutions: Dallas Baptist University and Midwestern State University.
