The Texas Junior Golf Tour and High School Golf Scoreboard Announce Strategic Alliance with ClubCorp

Southlake, Texas — June 6, 2016 — The Texas Junior Golf Tour (TJGT) and High School Golf Scoreboard (HSGS) are proud to announce a strategic alliance with ClubCorp, The World Leader in Private Clubs® that will expand awareness of college scholarship opportunities thereby enhancing the value of membership at DFW-area ClubCorp clubs, and ultimately grow the game of golf. The TJGT has produced over 4000+ collegiate alumni, amassing over $350 million in academic and golf scholarships throughout its 16-year existence. The TJGT’s executive staff, as well as its tournament staff, comprised of Texas high school golf coaches, bring extensive first-hand experience to the academic and golf recruiting process. The golf professionals and instruction staff at DFW ClubCorp clubs will share the TJGT’s “College Bound Membership” program, which guarantees a college scholarship offer to players by their senior year of high school.

The TJGT will also provide coveted tournament exemptions to its top events that contain American Junior Golf Association Performance Based Entry and Golfweek Rankings to each DFW club’s junior champion along with an annual College Coach Q&A evening at each of ClubCorp’s DFW area clubs.

“ClubCorp is excited to align with the TJGT,” said Chuck Feddersen, ClubCorp Executive Vice President. “Whether it’s an academic or golf scholarship, every parent knows a college education is an important tool for success. We have selected the TJGT because their organization possesses valuable, hands-on experience in the area of producing collegiate and professional golfers.”

“The TJGT and High School Golf Scoreboard are proud to align with the leading provider of private clubs in America. ClubCorp’s standard of excellence is admired throughout the nation and globally,” said Dave Jones, President of the Texas Junior Golf Tour. “The TJGT’s goal through this partnership is to inform and educate parents about the recruiting/scholarship process and to mentor young golfers along their road to achieving success. The TJGT staff is excited to mentor the golf professionals at DFW ClubCorp clubs in becoming more knowledgeable in the collegiate recruiting and scholarship process. As a parent of five children, who have all received either golf, academic or military scholarships, I would have immediately joined this program 20 years ago when I became a ClubCorp member.”
