Flower Mound, Texas — September 25, 2016 – Bridlewood Golf Club nestled in northern Dallas/Ft. Worth played host to a plethora of TJGT hopefuls this weekend as mother nature played spoiler. The kids endured ominous weather conditions during a delayed start and threatening skies halfway thru the event. Heavy rains overnight and a slow moving front washed out the second round of play leaving the kids to ponder many what if’s over their first round action
Boys 15-18 Division
Randall Fojtasek was one player with few things to ponder. Randall’s sterling 68 was clearly the round of the tournament. Solid error free play cleared the closest competition by three strokes. Mario Saludes (2nd), Samuel Simonsen (3rd) and Dawson Ovard (4th) were relegated to scorecard playoff land as the weather and course conditions would not let them settle their dispute on the golf course. In all, 24 boys in the 15-18 division carded sub-80 rounds. Great Job boys!
Boys 11-14 Division
The Boys 11-14 division saw some solid play as the kids scrambled to claim victory. Nicholas Hance (77) narrowly escaped a host of competitors, including a one stroke victory over Jack Beauchamp (78) and Hunter Pratt (79). Several other boys took their place in line as the 11-14 field covered scores ranging from 77-85.
Girls 11-14 Division
The Girls 11-14 division was also pretty hotly contested. Molly Murray distinguished herself over the group with a solid 78 to earn 1st place. Summer Lee trailed only two shots back with a strong 80 and Hannah Kerekes rounded out the girls top three with a score of 81.
Girls 15-18 Division
Ester Ahn’s even par 72 was just enough to clip her 2 rivals by a single shot. Darby Deans (73) and Piper Frisbie (73) settled their tie with a scorecard playoff as Darby claimed 2nd place. Overall the girls 15-18 field performed well with Ashton Begley recording a personal best competitive round of 76. Keep up the great work Ashton!
