WATCH: Lincecum Crowned Lone Star Boys Invitational Champion

The 2015 Lone Star Boys Invitational commenced today at the historic Golf Club of Dallas, formerly known as Oak Cliff Country Club.  The Golf Club of Dallas once hosted the Dallas Open, now known as the Byron Nelson Golf Classic, from 1958 through 1967.  Some of the past winners include, famous competitors Sam Snead and Charles Coody.

The final round of the invitational was moved to a 10:00 A.M. shotgun start, due to the overnight rain.  The temperatures were in the mid 50’s and the course was extremely wet. However, some players managed to set themselves apart from the pack and prove that they have what it takes to play at the next level.

Grant Lincecum made a fantastic run for the lead today and jumped all the way up the leader board into first place. Lincecum (2017), from Houston, TX, carded six birdies in his final round to post a four under round of 66.  Ethan Edsall (2016) of Montgomery, TX and Francisco Osio (2018) of Ft. Worth, TX finished the day tied for second place.  Edsall posted a final round 74 and Osio carded a 71. On the first hole of their sudden death playoff, Edsall got up-and-down for a par to claim second place. Finishing in fourth place was Jackson Markham (2016) from Westlake, TX posting scores of 71 and 73. Holden Wisener (2019) from Dallas, TX posted an impressive final round score of 67 and a two day total of 145 (78,67).
