Fritz and Vesely Take Home Trophies at Wolfdancer Championship

Rain greeted the players to Wolfdancer Golf Club on day one as conditions were set to test each competitor’s mental capabilities. The rain showers continued on for the duration of play, however Chase Fritz (2016) of Plano, TX remained calm posted the first day’s low round at 75.  Fritz held a two shot lead over Jonah Guajardo (2016) of San Antonio, TX going into the final round.  On the girls side, Kaylee Vesely (2020) of Austin, TX posted a 76 to lead the girls division by three shots overnight.

The final round began after thunderstorms and a cold front moved into the area overnight, which subsequently dropped the temperatures to uncomfortable levels.. The wet conditions over the past two days softened the course and allowed for players to attack the  pins and compete aggressively on the greens. Fritz once again carded a solid round of 73 on the difficult course and claimed the championship in the Boys 15-18 Division. Guajardo kept his spot in second place with a two-day total of 151 (77,74). In third place was Chan Pham (2016) of Fair Oaks Ranch, TX who posted a two-day total of 159 (78,81).
