San Antonio, Texas – March 17, 2016 – The Republic Golf Club hosted the TJGT’s Southern Regional Spring Break championship this past Wednesday and Thursday. This spectacular venue will also host a UIL 2016 Regional championship in May. Numerous junior golfers throughout the state took advantage of their vacation from school to capitalize on an opportunity to showcase their skills. Spring Break is a prime occasion for juniors to catch the eye of collegiate scouts and coaches.
The Texas weather cooperated and the scoring at this Junior Golf Scoreboard ranked event was at a premium. Many players posted incredible rounds near par and a few managed to score under par. The highlight of the weekend was Faith Summers’ two day total of five under par. The standout high school senior and San Antonio native posted stellar rounds of 68 and 69. The competitors in the field managed to post seven total rounds of par or better. Summers left the event with confidence and AJGA PBE under her belt.
