
The TJGT Holiday Classic @ Barton Creek was played December 28th-30th, 2014 at the incredible Barton Creek Resort in Austin, Texas. Almost 200 players from Texas, Minnesota, & Mexico teed it up in front of numerous college coaches with the Boys 11-14 playing 6,338 yards and all Girls 11-18 playing 5,878 yards on the Fazio Foothills course and the Boys 15-18 playing 6,630 yards on the Crenshaw course in this 54-hole, Golfweek-ranked event. Some of the 30+ college coaches in attendance were Mens: UTSA, Baylor, DBU, ACU, Arkansas Little Rock, OU, Southwestern, St. Edwards, Vanderbilt, Oral Roberts, & Odessa JC, and Women’s: TCU, K-State, Baylor, Texas, Oklahoma St, Univ. Incarnate Word, DBU, OU, Sam Houston St., & UNM. One of the highlights of the event were the two Q&A’s with college coaches and professional players. The TJGT came back to Barton Creek Resort for the 14th year and it was a roller coaster of weather conditions. The weather ranged the low 60’s and sunny to upper 30’s and windy.
Event Recap:
BOYS 15-18: Over thirty college coaches were on the property to see the great play of Pryce Beshoory (Pearland, TX) as he used 2 birdies to offset one bogey and post the only under par round of the day on day one with a 70. On his tail were Justin Kim (Plano, TX) and Will Peavy (Dallas, TX) who each posted rounds of 72 to sit two back. Round 2 started an hour late after a clear night gave way to heavy frost on the ground as the day broke. Nicholas Costello (Austin, TX) shot the round of the day firing a 69 using an eagle and two birdies on the card to move up the leaderboard. Also moving up the leaderboard was Trevor Brown (Austin, TX) who used four birdies to fire a 70 on the day. Justin Kim posted a 74 and Sean Foley posted a 72 to take the overall lead into the final day. Day 3 saw low temperatures as the fog kept the thermostat in the low 40s for the majority of the round. Pryce Beshoory, Nicholas Costello, and Andy Lopez (Dallas, TX) fired the rounds of the day ending the day at even par. Sean Foley (The Woodlands, TX) and Nicholas Costello finished the 54 holes tied at 219.
GIRLS 11-18: The final round proved to give Kennedy Swann an opportunity to go low with a 1-under 71 and climb the leaderboard and take 1st place honors. Her three-day total of 223 gave her a six-shot lead over 2nd place Camille Enright. Camille closed out her weekend with a score of 78 giving her 2nd place. In a tie for 3rd was Madison Kidd, Hailey Jones and Sadie Englemann. All three tied with 54-hole totals of 230.
BOYS 11-14: Luke Dossey was able to keep a good composure and put up a solid final round off 77 giving him the tournament win by three shots. Alejandro Gutierrez closed out his tournament with an 80 holding on to 2nd place. Crosby Guercio and Joseph Jones both tied for 3rd place with three day totals of 225. Joseph Jones won on the 1st playoff hole with a par.

Boys 15-18: Nicholas Costello birded the first hole to take the championship while Hoff carded a par to take 4th place.
Girls 11-18: Madison Kidd from Lake Jackson and Sadie Englemann from Austin tied for 3rd place. Hailey Jones birdied the 1st playoff hole and won 3rd place. Madison Kidd made par and finished 4th. Sadie Englemann made a 5 and finished 5th.
Boys 11-14: Joseph Jones from Flower Mound and Crosby Guercio Frisco tied for 3rd. Joseph Jones won with a par on the 1st playoff hole.
