Post Report: TCAT TPC San Antonio

San Antonio, Texas — June 1, 2016 – Twenty-six collegiate golfers teed it up at the TPC San Antonio – Oaks Course in the summer’s first Texas Collegiate Amateur Tour (TCAT) event. The rainy weather in Texas’ southern region has severely limited tournament play for the past month. Once again the weather plagued the course and players as storms rolled through multiple times resulting in a few delays and allowing only 18 holes to be completed on day one.

Taylor Coleman (Arizona State University – ASU) led the girls division after the first 18 holes with a score of 79 and was clear of Erin Fahey (Bowling Green State University – BGSU) by one stroke heading into the last round. On the Men’s side Chase Brincat (Dallas Baptist University – DBU) fired a 77 to take the first day lead going into the final round.

Day two provided exceptional weather and scoring conditions. The sun was out and our collegiate competitors were ready to attack the pins. On the collegiate women’s side Coleman (ASU) posted a 74 to take home the champion title. While on the men’s side Brincat (DBU) fired a solid 73 and the round of the day to capture the men’s championship trophy.
