The Lonestar Girls Invitational Recap Day 1

The Lonestar Girls Invitational kicked off today at Sky Creek Ranch Golf Club in Keller, Texas. Seventy one of the most accomplished young female golfers were allowed entry into this prestigious event.

The evening before play began the competitors and parents enjoyed a dinner and seminar, including a Q&A session with Coach Jeanne Sutherland from Southern Methodist University (SMU). Sutherland is a two time regional Coach of the Year and four-time conference Coach of the Year. The weather cooperated perfectly on the first day of competition with temperatures in the mid 80s the entire day.

Accomplishing a stellar round at Sky Creek Ranch requires pinpoint accuracy from tee to green and outstanding putting abilities.

Three players are tied for the lead with a score of 72 after an incredible first day of competition.

Sahara Washington from Universal City, Tx (2017), Kennedy Pedigo from Ft. Worth, Tx (2017), and Hannah Holzmann from San Antonio, Tx all recorded even par rounds of 72.

Five players are tied for 2nd place recording scores of 73. Camille Enright of Plano, Tx (2016), Hailey Jones of Dallas, Tx (2019), Randi Romack of Austin, Tx (2017), Jennie Park of Carollton, Tx (2019) and Reid Isaac of Montgomery, Tx (2017).

Play will continue tomorrow at Sky Creek Ranch at 1:00 p.m. Live scoring of the event will be available online at TJGT.
