The TJGT Augusta Pines Major Championship was played August 10-11, 2015 at Augusta Pines Golf Club.
Event Recap:
HOT HOT HOT!!!! Felt like 110 in the shade both days! Course in great conditions and the first day scores were an indicator as the players torched the course. Pace of play was outstanding both days playing under 5 hours, with players competing from Texas, Louisiana, and Mexico. Cody Banach led the Boys Division after day one shooting -4 68 with 4 other players shooting under par also on day one. Reid Isaac led the Girls Division after day one with even par 72 but Kari Bush was just one shot behind her. Day two the lead groups were still torching the course with great scores! Day two came with a surprise mover…Sean Foley in his last TJGT event before heading off to college shot a -2 70 to take second place but was 4 strokes behind the winner Cody Banach who shot a tournament best 68-72-140. Reid Isaac held on winning by 3 strokes over Kari Bush for the Girls Division. With boys receiving 5 places and girls 3 it was amazing we had no playoffs for awards and again the pace of play on Tuesday was great!!! 4 hours 2 minutes from tee off to sitting in front of scores table. Great job by all players today to beat the HEAT!!
